If you’re unaware, the UK version of the X Factor has become available to watch in the U.S. on AXS TV. The U.S. did experience three seasons of this show, however it was short lived and was cancelled. Since then, the original version from the UK has been airing here as well. The X Factor UK has created some of the biggest music stars including Leona Lewis, Little Mix, Ella Henderson, Olly Murs and of course One Direction. In its 13th season, there are 12 brand new talented hopefuls preparing for the first live show.
This year we have one of the best groups of judges back to mentor the new talented acts. Simon Cowell is mentoring the girls category which includes Samantha Lavery, Gifty Louise, and Emily Middlemas. The boys category is made up of Matt Terry, Freddy Parker and Ryan Lawrie who are being mentored by the beautiful, Nicole Scherzinger. Taking over the groups this year is Louis Walsh. His groups include 5 After Midnight and Bratavio. Finally the over 25’s, Honey G, Relley C, and Saara Alto, are being mentored by the lovely Sharon Osbourne.
There are definitely some early standouts going into this first live show. Matt Terry has for sure won over the girls with his good looks and charming personality. Not only is he easy on the eyes, but his performance during judges homes proved that he has an amazing vocal range to go with his pop star image. Another early favorite has to be 5 After Midnight. These three guys can dance, sing, and are clearly three of the coolest guys you’ll ever meet. The strongest category, in my opinion, have to be the girls. All three are incredible vocalists in their own musical style and clearly have the potential to become huge recording artists.
With the first live shows coming up tonight in the U.S., I am looking forward to seeing what everyone brings. This show is known to produce stars, and I can already see several on the verge of becoming exactly that. Make sure you tune in!
